Health and Wellness Department
In partnership with Stó:lō Nation Health Services, Fraser Health Authority, Fraser Valley Aboriginal Child & Family Services, and the First Nation Health Authority, Sumas provides the following health services for Sumas and Community members, including but not limited to: health education, baby clinics, immunizations, nurse practitioner visits, referrals to detox and treatments centres, non-insured health benefits, medical transportation assistance, mental health services and referrals, nutrition and diabetes support, and more.

Lands Department
The services provided by the Sumas First Nation Lands and Resources Department include: assistance with the development of leases and permits including undertaking regular environmental monitoring to ensure compliance. We assist SFN Members on their individual land holdings, with land transfers, new allotments, land surveys, settling of estates where land is involved and land development. We are responsible for developing policies and procedures, to better implement and administer the SFN Laws.

Governance and Natural Resources Department
The Governance and Natural Resources Department (“GNR”) serves a variety of functions for Sumas First Nation (“Semá:th”). The GNR Department is mandated by the Chief and Council to help serve the needs of the community in relation to off-reserve issues. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: litigation, negotiations, reconciliation discussions, referral processes, government to government relations, environmental restoration, protection of species-at-risk, and more.
