Sumas First Nation’s Governance and Natural Resources Manager, Natasha Youngchief, represented us as a keynote speaker at the Involve Abbotsford Symposium on November 21st.

Involve Abbotsford is a program that provides relevant training and information to help non-profits, small businesses, local sports organizations, and arts programs flourish locally. This year’s Symposium (Theme: Sustainability – Implementing Impactful Green Practices) featured a keynote address, workshop breakout sessions, networking, and more.

Natasha spoke about the importance of green practices, noting the deep and guiding relationship Indigenous people have with the land. As a Nation, our priority is to protect and preserve the environment that has been inhabited by the Semá:th people since time immemorial.

Thank you Natasha for using your voice as a force for good both in Semá:th territory and in neighbouring Abbotsford!
